Meet the Woman Behind the Pen.
Although she grew up in Arizona, S. L. Dearing was born and raised in California and considers the Golden State her home. Shannon attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, studying biology, before moving to Los Angeles where she spent several years studying at Los Angeles City College’s renowned Television/ Film program.
She has since worked on several film projects in many capacities: directing, writing, First Asst. Director, Etc. She currently works in an administrative capacity and is a founding member of the Indie Artist Group – Rising Indies United. Having learned the art of storytelling from her father when she was very young, Shannon has been writing since the tender age of five. Over the years she has written several screenplays, poems and short stories, as well as her series, The Lia Fail Chronicles. Being a multi-genre and mash-up author, Shannon is unrestricted by content and is only interested in telling the next story that needs to be told. She has quite a few projects on deck, and is currently working on the next book in the Lia Fail Series. When not writing or reading, Shannon enjoys spending time with friends and family. Her hobbies include baking and candy making, learning the guitar and drawing. In addition, she has a side business where she designs and makes jewelry and swag for books and film. Her company is called Underdweller Treasures and is currently located in the Etsy.com market. She currently lives in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, CA. |
